Charlotte, NC, USA - Deployed

Monday, September 5, 2005

Once we filled out the forms at the Red Cross on Saturday, things happened fairly quickly. We got a call on Sunday telling us to come in Monday morning to have photos taken for our ID badges. So this morning we got our badges and were told we'd get a call at some point asking us to be ready to work. The call came in this afternoon at about 2:45. We went back into the office, filled out more forms, got our Red Cross vests and our disaster staff debit cards and our hugs from Deb, the director, and booked plane tickets to Montgomery, Alabama. Our plane leaves at 6 am.

We don't know if we'll be staying in Montgomery or if we'll be moved somewhere else. I guess we'll find out tomorrow. I also don't know when we'll next have Internet access, but I will try to keep this updated when I can.
